Did your mother ever tell you to eat everything on your dinner plate because there were starving children in Africa? We often tend to think of poor children living in remote areas of the world. However, poverty is not confined to one country or even one area of the world. There are children living in poverty in every nation and country in the world. Wait a minute, that means there are children here in America, the wealthiest nation in the world, who are living in the state of poverty. In fact, estimates from the National Center for Children in Poverty show that over 14 million children in America live a life of poverty. This means that they don’t have enough to eat, they have poor, if any, healthcare, and their education is limited.
